How To Turn Off Carrier IQ On Your iPhone?

Carrier IQ hits the headlines of the tech world, accused of storing sensitive data, sending it to cellphone service providers. It seems to be in every mobile phone. Apple confirmed that it stopped supporting the software in iPhones with iOS5. They will be removing it in a future software update.

Apple also mentioned that any diagnostic data sent to Apple, customers must actively opt-in to share this information, and if they do, the data is sent in an anonymous and encrypted form and does not include any personal information. We never recorded keystrokes, messages or any other personal information for diagnostic data and have no plans to ever do so.
So, just how do you block Carrier IQ? Read on for the guide [iOS5 only]
  1. Open ‘Settings
  2. Click on ‘General
  3. Click ‘About
  4. Select ‘Diagnostics & Usage
  5. Select ‘Don’t Send
The thing is, after doing this process, your carrier already gathers all the datas you could think of. What you’ve just done is to prevent your iPhone from saving the data on your iPhone. Just in case you happen to want to sell your iPhone and the next owner could have access to your information.
