Carrier IQ hits the headlines of the tech world, accused of storing sensitive data, sending it to cellphone service providers. It seems to be in every mobile phone. Apple confirmed that it stopped supporting the software in iPhones with iOS5. They will be removing it in a future software update.
Apple also mentioned that any diagnostic data sent to Apple, customers must actively opt-in to share this information, and if they do, the data is sent in an anonymous and encrypted form and does not include any personal information.
